I had no real idea how I came across, and certainly had no idea how to change. Working with that horse, I was able to shift my approach and see the difference it made right then and there. I learned how to inspire commitment rather than demand compliance. I speak to my kids in a different voice… less from my head and more from my heart and my gut. I'm more effective and more connected to them at the same time. These horses have a lot to teach us about our own lives and relationships. Now I know how to be in charge without controlling. I learned how to set boundaries without getting mad...and without giving in. What a great thing to know before going off to college. I've been riding all my life and never knew how my horses see the world. My work with them and the kids is just getting better and better.
